A family garden, Failsworth.

A sloped, unusable back garden turned into a safe place for the kids to play, finished in time for a birthday.

The job

The garden sloped, it was overgrown and nobody used it. The brief was simple: somewhere the children could play.

We pruned the tree to let the light in, built a retaining wall from gravel boards to level the ground, then added a picket fence and timber steps. A sleeper sandpit went in round the existing tree, then 40mm artificial turf and a climbing frame with a slide.

It was finished in time for a birthday party.
